Gut healing protocol

My appointment with the MTHFR specialist went extremely well the other day. I now have a ton of useful information and knowledge that will help me heal my gut and balance my methylation cycles out. I learned a lot about the gene mutations I have and how they play into this but I will have to make a separate post for that. For now, here is my updated gut healing protocol. Tons of supplements and they are of course insanely expensive but this year has been too, too, long and hard to stop now. I tried to heal my gut on my own for a year and while I did make progress it is super nice to have highly educated naturopaths guiding me on the right protocol. If you are trying on your own I would highly suggest getting someone to help you. I know the money struggle is very real but especially in my case I think it is extremely important to have help. I know I researched gut healing for months but I didn’t know how much to take of each supplement or how long to take it.

We will focus on my gene mutations and hormones after we heal my gut as well as my nutrient deficiencies. It would be pretty useless to supplement many vitamins at this point because they would be food for the bacteria. EEK.

PROTOCOL:

I will now continue with the low FODMAP diet I am on while being mindful of foods to avoid for sibo and high oxalate foods(the doctor thinks my high oxalate levels on my test indicate gallbladder dysfunction so she is going to help me cleanse my liver and gallbladder along the way)

I will do this along with the antimicrobial rotation of garlic, silvercillin, and gi microb-x to address the yeast and bacterial overgrowth(sibo).

antimicrobials: Garlic capsules, gi microb- x, silvercillin

enzymes-taking enzymedica

probiotics-taking prescript assist and probiota bifido-great for histamine intolerance

glutagenics–  reduces inflammation of the upper GI tract; can relieve burning pain associated with gastritis and inflammation of the mucosa.

zinlori 75– will enhance the repair of the stomach lining-gastritis

cal apatite– I think this helps break down oxalates which I have crazy high amounts of

trancor –  improves bile flow, increases glutathione, and promotes a sense of calm by increasing the GABA/Glutamate ratio in the brain.

l-glutamine –  fuel source and nutrient source for the cells which line our GI tract.  Helps to seal a leaky gut by allowing the epithelial cells to grow faster and healthier, reducing inflammation and increasing glutathione.

arginine plus–  NOS support, L-arginine and folate to improve blood flow and circulation, increases nitric oxide levels.  Useful in preventing excess histamine release and intestinal permeability in the gut.

magnesium-calms stress, regulates blood sugar, helps bowels keep moving, supports immune system

Let the healing begin people.
